The classes have encouraged me and given me confidence with exercises I never liked doing and now I love them!
I started 13 weeks ago my goal was to get in shape for holiday and help me physically for my golf and of course to generally feel a lot healthier.
I trained with Fortitude 3 times a week and coupled that with 2 long runs (built up to the 8-10 miles) and 2 weight sessions.
I’ve trained for other goals before but always felt bored with the same old routine but since having the Breakfast Club/S&C classes it’s kept me motivated especially having the trainer/group support. The classes have encouraged me and given me confidence with exercises I never liked doing and now I love them! I can also take bits of training out of Fortitude and incorporate them into my own training sessions.
In terms of nutrition I ate pretty cleanly, didn’t really eat in the mornings but portion controlled in the daytime lots of rice, sweet potato, chicken, eggs, fish and green veg. Really easy to make stuff (soy sauce was my saviour seasoning!).
For me the important thing was that I didn’t want a really strict diet! I wanted to still enjoy the things we all like, alcohol, crisps, sweets etc! If I wanted them i had them (in moderation) and having the confidence that I was working out as much as I was it didn’t give me cause to feel guilty. Drinking lots of water has been important and black coffee have helped massively with hunger cravings.
What was really important for me was not to turn my life into one big diet. It’s been said before it’s a lifestyle choice so you can enjoy the things you want to enjoy and feel good about yourself.
I would say the biggest most important part of what I have achieved is having a clear GOAL, its so important and with a good goal the desire to achieve it comes! As long as you stay committed to your goal the support Fortitude provide is the perfect catalyst for achieving it!
