Training for the long haul

The gym has turned into a hobby for me and is something I really look forward to.

I’ve always enjoyed exercising and have been a member of a gym of some sort for most of my adult life but have never been able to train consistently for more than a couple of months at a time.

In the past I’ve always set myself short term goals with my training whether it be to lose a certain amount of weight or to train for a specific event, this has either resulted in failure or training stopping after the event was completed.

When I moved to Lydney and saw Fortitude right next door to work I was determined this time it would be different.

My aim this time was simply to make exercise a permanent part of my routine.

1 year later and I can proudly say that I consistently train 3 to 4 days a week and feel the healthiest I’ve felt for a very long time. The gym has turned into a hobby for me and is something I really look forward to.

For me this is down to 2 main factors.

  1. Community.  The Fortitude community truly is one of a kind. I’ve never known a group of people more welcoming or supportive.
  2. Quality of training. The coaches are extremely knowledgeable and passionate about what they do.

Going forward into my second year at Fortitude I excited to develop my weight lifting skills further and continue feeling better about my health and fitness.
