Swimming has always been my main passion and has pretty much ruled my life for as long as I can remember and if I am honest, I never even considered exercising in any other way. However, just under 2 years ago, a good friend convinced me to get up ridiculously early and go for a trial session with Josh and I have never gone back.


The strength training has helped me in so many ways, many of which I didn’t realise that it could. My swimming has massively improved and even though I don’t swim as much as I should, my strength training has helped me to gain a place in national galas, swimming for Gloucestershire. I also could not thank Josh enough for the amount of time and effort he put in to helping me achieve my goal of doing a single pull up, something I never thought I would be able to do and can now do repeatedly!

My favourite and the best part of training with Fortitude? The people you train with. I am now part of a community that encourages and supports me every step of my training journey and I definitely wouldn’t be without them! Sessions are always fun and I can’t remember the last time I went and my cheeks weren’t hurting with laughing too much. The support you get from your coaches and team mates makes the biggest difference and you can’t get much more from the Fortitude Family.

I didn’t think that 2 years later I would still be getting up early and committing myself to training, that wasn’t swimming, but it was one of the best decisions I have ever made and I would never go back!
